Stopping IMS 13.1
If possible, notify all users that IMS is to be terminated and
when it will occur. This allows users to complete their work,
or at least reach a convenient stopping point. Issue
/BROADCAST ACTIVE as much in advance of termination as possible.
If you have users on the system and you wish to notify that IMS
is coming down use:
##,/BRO ACTIVE 'TERMINATING'.
(the period is required)
**NOTE
If your entering the commands from the SDSF log you will need to
put a "/" in front of the commands.
## should be the number associated to the IMS outstanding reply.
There are several ways to stop IMS:
To terminate the control region without dumping the message queues.
##,/CHE SNAPQ
##,/CHE FREEZE
DFS994I IMS SHUTDOWN COMPLETED
To terminate the control region and dump the message queues
, use either ONE of these commands.
##,/CHE DUMPQ or ##,/CHE PURGE
Please review all the above commands in the IMS Sample Operating
Procedures
Once you have stopped IMS you need to stop IRLM:
P IMS13RL1
You should see the following messages:
DXR110I IRLM001 STOP COMMAND ACCEPTED
$HASP395 IMS13RL1 ENDED
The proc should match which ever version of IMS your stopping.
