IBM Corporation has taken steps to enhance the security of the internet connections to the IBM Innovation Center, Dallas remote access systems, by blocking various ports from "INBOUND" traffic.

Remote access systems that have been assigned a public internet address which begins with 198.81.193, 204.90.115,192.86.32 or 192.86.33 will be able to initiate "OUTBOUND" sessions to the internet but will NOT be capable of accepting "INBOUND" sessions from the internet to an IBM Innovation Center, Dallas remote access system on the following ports and based on the exceptions which follow:

Blocked Port and Protocol

  • 25/TCP
  • 135/TCP
  • 139/TCP
  • 445/TCP
  • 2240/TCP
  • 2710/TCP
  • 3391/TCP

  • 3531/TCP

Blocked Port and Protocol

  • 3535/TCP
  • 4662/TCP
  • 6346/TCP
  • 6348/TCP
  • 6881/TCP
  • 6882/TCP

Exceptions:

  • If a session is initiated on one of these ports from an Innovation Center, Dallas remote access system outbound to some other system on the Internet, traffic will be allowed to return to the port.
  • If you are using any of these ports, please update your application immediately so it provides services on a different port.
  • The port restrictions do not apply to remote access systems that have been assigned a private IP address on the IBM Innovation Center, Dallas VPN network.
